Common misunderstandings

Where the arguments come from.

The frequent ones

That evolution has a goal, that individuals evolve, that humans descended from modern monkeys, that it is only a theory, and that complexity cannot arise from small steps.

  • We share an ancestor with other apes; we did not come from any living species.
  • In science, a theory is a well tested framework, not a guess.

Complex organs

An eye did not appear complete. Light sensitive patches, then cups, then lenses each helped at every stage, and intermediate forms exist in living animals today.
