Impersonation scams
Bank, police, tax office, company.
The safe account myth
A caller claims your account is compromised and asks you to move money to a new account they control. No bank does this, ever.
- Caller ID and sender names are trivially spoofed.
- Staff will never ask for your full password or a code sent to you.
Tech support
A warning appears, or a caller says your device is infected. Granting remote access hands over your accounts. Genuine companies do not cold call about your computer.
