The problem
Convincing fake images, audio and video are now cheap. The absence of evidence of manipulation has stopped being evidence of authenticity.
- Detection tools are unreliable and will stay behind generation.
- Content credentials attach signed provenance at capture and editing time.
Everyday defence
Verify through a second channel, especially for anything urgent involving money or credentials. A voice on a phone is no longer identification.
