Getting useful output.

Context is everything

Supply the material, the audience, the constraints and an example of what good looks like. Vague requests produce generic answers, which is a specification problem rather than a model failure.

  • Ask for a draft to improve rather than a final answer to accept.
  • Iterating in several passes beats one long instruction.

Grounding

Retrieval-augmented generation fetches relevant documents and includes them in the prompt. It turns recall into reading, which is the single biggest accuracy improvement available.
