Urgent is not important.

Sort work by urgency and importance. Important and urgent gets done, important and not urgent is what actually moves things and gets crowded out, urgent and unimportant is where days disappear.

  • Other people's urgency is not automatically your priority.
  • Schedule important non-urgent work or it never happens.

Fewer things

Ordering a list of forty is a fiction. Choose the three outcomes that matter this week and let the rest wait visibly rather than silently.
