Use the parts
Prefixes, roots and suffixes suggest meaning: mal- bad, -phile lover of, circum- around. Combine that with the relationship in the known pair.
- Eliminate options whose relationships you can rule out.
- A confident guess after eliminating two is usually better than skipping.
Working backwards
If the second pair is clearer than the first, build the bridge from that side instead. Nothing requires you to start at the left.
