Hiring

Hire for the work that actually exists rather than for a title. A wrong hire is expensive in money, time and morale, and most people delay fixing one far too long.

  • Define what success looks like at 90 days before writing the advert.
  • Contractors suit variable and specialist work; employees suit continuity.

Delegation

Growth requires giving work away with the authority to do it differently. A founder who remains the bottleneck caps the business at their own capacity.
