The replication problem

Several famous findings in this field have failed to replicate, and popular versions often overstate the effect. Treat single striking studies here as you would anywhere else.

The Dunning-Kruger effect is real and smaller than the internet version.
Priming results in particular have a poor replication record.

Not a way to dismiss people

Naming a bias in someone else's argument is not a rebuttal. The claim still has to be examined, and the person naming the bias is subject to the same list.
