Before
State the purpose, the decision needed and who must be there. A meeting with no decision to make is usually a document.
- Circulate the material in advance and expect it to be read.
- If the answer is already decided, say so rather than staging a discussion.
During and after
Someone facilitates, someone records decisions and owners, and the summary goes out the same day. Without the last step, the meeting mostly did not happen.
